I thought for today, since I've only done link-ups so far, I would slow things down a little and make a more personal post about myself, why I started this blog, and what I hope to achieve.

Growing up, I was always an active kid. In fact, there were many days/nights that I ate both lunch and dinner outside because I couldn't be coaxed to pause for a minute and come in to eat. The neighborhood kids and I did everything from fishing in the pond in the woods behind our house, to playing manhunt, to decorating our bikes with streamers and racing down our street. Activity and outdoors is something I've always enjoyed.
At age six I started playing soccer and fell head-over-heels in love with the sport. I continued playing for eleven years, became the captain of my middle school team, and stopped playing in my sophomore year of high school. Season-to-season I picked up other sports along the way, like my high school tennis and swim teams, and, at some point or another, I've informally played just about every other sport.
Along with my interest in sports, health and wellness is something else that I've always taken a liking to. I remember sitting at the consultation desk of my local LA Fitness, thirteen-years-old and a mere preteen, and the trainer telling me that he would have to work something out for myself and my two friends to get a membership, since we weren't of age. Around that same time (six-seventh grade,) is when I started to acknowledge the contents of foods; how many calories they had, how natural they were, and whether they were "good" or "bad" foods.
I went through many flings of having a daily gym routine and watching what I ate. Last summer, specifically, was the health "fling" that really made me change my mindset on what I want to achieve from my exercises and healthy eating.
Throughout last summer I was a cardio bunny. I thought cardio was all I needed and I thought that all I wanted to do was lose weight, so I ran every morning and limited my daily intake. Boy, was I wrong. I was ALWAYS exhausted and burnt out, and I really didn't have the energy to do much of anything. On top of this, I was working as an office assistant with a six days a week, forty-eight hours per week schedule. Outside of working and my morning runs, I spent my entire summer doing almost nothing because all I wanted to do was stay home and sleep. It wasn't like I was overexerting myself at work. My job was an office job, I worked on the computer and answered phones all day. Was this what exercise and eating healthy was all about?
NO. And in turn, I ended up over-eating and bingeing on everything at the end of the summer. I gained back any weight that I had lost, plus an extra ten pounds. This opened my eyes and made me realize that my approach on health and fitness, in fact, wasn't healthy at all.
What I want from my exercises and healthy eating is to be strong, toned, healthy, fit, and energized; not to be skinny, weak, and exhausted all the time. That brings me to this, my blog, where I hope to connect, share, and inspire with other people living this lifestyle, fueling their body with nutritional foods and a healthy mindset, killing their workouts, and on a journey to being the most physically and mentally fit, happy, and healthy them that they can be.
I Have a Fiture is my journey as I grow a brain, body, and blog that all focus on my aspirations and achievements of being a happy, healthy person.

Cheers to the fiture!

What was your favorite sport growing up?

PictureGrandmom's Macaroni Salad!
Food!

For every holiday my Grandmom makes macaroni salad (and, yes, that is an entire bucket of it!) I don't even like macaroni salad, but her's is incredible! It's literally a treat, and for as far back as I can remember it has been both mine and my sister's favorite holiday food that we look forward to.
You know what I'm enjoying a nice bowl (or three) of today!

Deals!

This big red dot means that I got this Clean Food by Terry Walters cook book for 50% off at Barnes & Noble! THEN when I went to check-out, I got an extra 10% off with my members card for a whopping 60% off! The best part is that I was in there a week prior and I had to force myself to put this back on the shelf, and it wasn't even on sale then! I love that all the recipes in this book are divided by season to include all of the freshest fruits and veggies during each specific season. I've already included the ingredients for some of the recipes on this week's grocery list!

(I love getting packages in the mail) :)
All-Natural Products!

I really believe it to be super important to not only fuel our bodies with natural, organic, no-additive, unprocessed foods, but to treat and care for our bodies with toxin-free beauty products as well. The face products, shampoos, soaps, and deodorants that I use are 100% natural, and I certainly can see a noticeable difference in my skin/hair since before I started using them!

Exercising!

This picture was taken after biking two hours through thunderstorms. I love exercising and working out, especially when I can take it outdoors! Biking is one of my favorite cardio exercises, and one of my best-friends and I go up to the state park to ride a few days a week (rain or shine!) :)

I know this post was a bit long, but I hope that I was able to give you an insight on some of the things that I love most about life! All of these loves are an intro to the things you'll be seeing my posts consisting of the most.

I'd love to hear feedback on what you think about my first post, and I cannot wait to connect with all of you!
Thank you everyone! Cheers to the fiture!
